Pareto-Optimised Fog Storage Services with Novel Service-Level Agreement Specification

(1) Background: Cloud storage is often required for successful operation of novel smart applications, relying on data produced by the Internet Things (IoT) devices. Big Data processing tasks and management operations such applications require high Quality Service (QoS) guarantees, requiring an Edge/Fog computing approach. Additionally, users specific guarantees in form Level Agreements (SLAs) services. To address these problems, we propose QoS-enabled Fog Storage Services, implemented as containerised services, orchestrated across Things-to-Cloud continuum. (2) Method: The placement services continuum dynamically decided using a Pareto-based decision-making process based availability, throughput, other QoS demands user. proposed concept first confirmed via simulation then tested real-world environment. (3) Results: mechanism SLA specification have been successfully integrated DECENTER Brokerage Platform to complement orchestration containers, thus presenting their applicable value. Simulation results well practical experimentation Europe-wide testbed shown that method can deliver set optimal nodes, meeting requirements. (4) Conclusion: It possible provide new with expected our Services.
